ULTRASONIC BIOMICROSCOPY (UBM)
To be able to examine in depth the structures of the anterior segment (cornea, iris, trabeculum, lens) we need to perform a biomicroscopy with ultrasound. In this way we will obtain a clear image of these structures and we will be able to detect small iridian cysts, make different measurements between these structures, etc.
To carry out the test, you must place a small bath with water that acts as a means of transmitting the ultrasound between the probe and the eye. Afterwards, we take different high resolution images of the structures that interest us most, such as the one on our right.
